Are your counsellors trained?
Counsellors are all trained and properly supervised in accordance with BACP requirements.
Will anyone else know that I am coming (will you tell my GP for example)?
Counselling is strictly confidential. Counsellors discuss their cases anonymously with their supervisors. The counsellor will not discuss you with anyone else without first seeking your express permission.
How long do I have to wait to see a counsellor?
You may have to wait for a few weeks if there is a waiting list.
How much does it cost?
You will be asked to make weekly donations according to your means to offset the running costs of the service.
What if I cannot afford to pay?
No one will be refused counselling on financial grounds.
How long does a session last?
50 minutes to allow changeover between clients.
How often would I see my counsellor?
Regular weekly sessions are recommended and you will be expected to keep all appointments unless illness or other serious problems prevent you from doing so.
Will I be advised on what to do in my situation?
No. Your counsellor will not presume to tell you what you should do, but would hope to help you discover your choices and support you as you take the responsibility of deciding what to do.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are insured for professional indemnity.

"Above all, therapy is an inner journey and the goal of this quest is the individual's true identity..."                  [Ann Casement, 2002]
"Person-centred therapy is essentially an approach to the human condition based on trust. There is trust in the innate resourcefulness of human beings, given the right conditions, to find their own way through life."                          [Brian Thorne, 2002]
